‘The Sea, Once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever’ Jacques Cousteau

ABOUT

I have always had a love of the coast. For me, it’s about capturing the scenes I think are beautiful and unique, the ones I wish I could remember forever…

Its the fleeting images that resonate; the light catching the spinifex as the sun sets, or the crazy beautiful colour in the sand as the waves recede….. Sometimes it’s simply to present a scene from a different perspective.

I grew up in the small seaside town of Streaky Bay, on the west coast of South Australia. My family spent most of our free time at the beach in or around the ocean, which is where my love for the coast began. Having an early interest in beach art, I painted surfboards and coastal scenes for friends’ and family as gifts growing up. After a long break from art, for other life and career pursuits, my partner and I traveled Australia and fell in love with Ningaloo and moved to Exmouth, in the north west of Western Australia where my interest in art was reignited. I use soft pastel for its vibrancy and versatility, but also enjoy oils and pen and ink.

We have made Exmouth, on the doorstep of Ningaloo our home, and along with our two kids, get to enjoy this magical backyard everyday!
